History of the jewels

We met Mathieu Ferland, founder of the Lixy brand, on a sunny Saturday afternoon at Le Lieu in the Vallée de Joux. We were lucky enough to walk through the doors of his workshop, greeted by a man bursting with energy, a big smile and infectious charisma. Despite his many years spent in Switzerland's prestigious Vallée de Joux, Mathieu has retained his warm Quebec accent, which adds a touch of authenticity to his personality.

THE MEETING

Our meeting with Mathieu was made possible by Gaël, his partner and a renowned mood lover whose photographic and artistic talents are known throughout the mood lover community. Sublime photos, exceptional compositions... one thing's for sure Gaël has a great eye and she knows how to sublimate the creations made by mood.

Mathieu Ferland's career

Mathieu Ferland began his career as a watchmaker and watch builder before turning to jewellery. He quickly established himself in the industry, working for a number of leading brands before founding Lixy. His brand is a reflection of his expertise, his love of fine materials and his constant desire to innovate. Lixy stands out for its unique creations, where each piece tells a story and is crafted with incomparable precision and passion.

THE ADDON IN TURQUOISE TITANIUM

This addon is inspired by the enchanting landscapes of Zanzibar, where the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean captivate with their beauty and brilliance. The addon is a brilliant turquoise blue, reflecting the magnificent color of the Indian Ocean. This soothing, invigorating hue instantly immerses you in the serene ambience of Zanzibar.
The surface of the addon features a unique wrinkled texture, capturing a thousand reflections and imitating the play of light of the ocean with the sun. This texture adds depth and dynamism, recalling the waves and ripples of water.... Mathieu uses an anodizing technique a surface treatment method that allows him to play with colors and create stunning visual effects. This mastery of anodizing, which he has been perfecting for years, allows his creations to stand out for their beauty and originality.

A master technique

The anodising technique involves using electric fields to modify the surface of titanium at an atomic level, creating unique colour gradations. Mathieu excels in this technique, transforming titanium into true works of art that capture and reflect light spectacularly. Each piece is unique, and the process requires a precision and expertise that few watchmakers possess.
